Many of the projects that we undertake involve complex planning issues, challenging sites or buildings, changes of use or challenges to existing planning policy. Our planners work alongside our in-house architects and other designers to create schemes that have been tested and can be proved against policy before submission, giving them the best chance of first time approval. Many clients approach us first to secure development value or change.

The multi-disciplinary approach of the Practice is particularly beneficial in complex situations where a combination of planning strategy and innovative design mesh together to deliver value added solutions.

The core work of our Planning Team involves supporting current application and appeal proposals. The way in which we undertake this work is being continually developed through the experience we are accumulating from our diverse caseload, and the professional development of our planning staff. We maintain links with other planning professionals through the involvement of our staff with the South West Branch of the RTPI. Work undertaken by our Planning Team includes:

· Planning appraisals and pre-application advice
· Historical, economic and demographic research
· Preparation of Planning and Design Reports in support of
  application proposals
· Negotiation with Local Planning Authorities
· PR presentations and lobbying of decision-makers,
amenity societies and other interested parties
· Legal agreement preparation and negotiation
· Planning condition discharge and modification
· Planning appeals
· Local Plan representations
· Enforcement resolution and submission of Lawful
  Development applications
