We recognise the important influence that designers and planners have on the quest for more sustainable patterns of living and working. Sustainability is important at a fundamental level in decisions about where new buildings should be sited, and the flexibility with which buildings can be used over time.

At Nash Partnership we have an active sustainability group together with an up to the minute ‘green’ resource library. We have a number of architects with particular expertise and interest in this field who implement green technologies and passive design strategies widely. We are in touch with developing technology and regulations and are constant and lively contributors to the global debate. We regularly assess our projects for Ecohomes, Carbon Reduction or BREEAM achievement.

Sustainable technologies are useful additions to the sustainable architect’s palette and when properly integrated contribute to a reduction in conventional energy consumption and carbon emissions. Selective sourcing of renewable materials, future proofing buildings, embodied energy and orientation together with provision of allotment areas, bicycle parking, home office design and rainwater harvesting are all factors that we consider at the start of a project to ensure proper integration and successful synthesis of the type of environmental measures that can make a difference now and in the future.

Nash Partnership are members of the Green Register.
