What is different about your role?
I studied architectural technology and am a Chartered Architectural Technologist. This focuses more on the design and detail side of architecture. It’s something I really enjoy.
What is the best advice you were ever given?
DIPS. This doesn’t work for everyone but for me it did. When I was in training, my then boss used to write DIPS as feedback on some of my work. It took me a while to find out that this wasn’t an architectural acronym but stood for Do It Properly Stupid. It’s harsh, but I didn’t mind it at the time. It certainly taught me very quickly to deliver quality work from the outset, every time.
How would your colleagues describe you?
I’d like to think they would say that I’m outgoing and friendly, with a keen eye for detail.
