Say hello to… Adam

What sparked your interest in architecture?

My dad’s a carpenter so I’ve been aware of construction for a long time, and my skillset has always included drawing. I wanted to pursue a career that combines these two, and decided that architecture was the perfect choice.

What do you enjoy most in your work?

I really enjoy the more visual aspects of 3D modelling and preparing renders and visualisations. The visual aspects give you a good grasp of the project and help you to understand the various construction techniques, which is especially useful as a Part I Architect.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?

Having a good understanding of construction has been a really important lesson. University studies give you a good grounding in the creative and conceptual skills for this career, but the practical side of implementing a project is an important lesson I’ve learned since working for a practice.

Weekends are for…

Watching movies! Together with two friends, I create weekly film review podcasts… so that’s a good excuse to kick back and watch another film! I also love to draw in my spare time.
