Mike leads the Planning Team with Mel Clinton. He manages and delivers large-scale urban development schemes, while expanding the range of projects in the UK and abroad.
Mike is an urban design-trained planner with more than 15 years of experience in handling complex planning and regeneration projects. During that time Mike has worked with three London boroughs, planning and urban design consultancy Tibbalds in London and international development agency VSO. This included working on the £2 billion regeneration of Kings Cross Centre while at London Borough of Camden, preparing planning applications for the redevelopment of the Brentford Lock West site on the edge of Brentford town centre, and the preparation of a development framework for Ealing town centre.
Mike also worked in Zambia for two years with VSO (2012-2014), as Urban and Regional Planning Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government and Housing. There he helped establish a new planning system to strengthen the capabilities of provincial government officers and systems. This included preparing cross-cutting urban policy frameworks, action plans for infrastructure projects, masterplans for new settlements, and guidance on urban design, settlement upgrading and community engagement.
Mike advises on a range of planning projects and is focused on facilitating development that delivers meaningful change. Central to his approach is bringing different parties to the table, building consensus and devising solutions that everyone can buy into.
