Matson and Podsmead are two deprived post-war estates situated in southern Gloucester.
A draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) produced by Tibbalds suggested over 750 additional new homes could be achieved through redevelopment across multiple sites. Working with Quattro Architects, Nash Partnership has been testing the deliverability of the masterplan on which the SPD is based, and further refining the SPD in response.
We are currently preparing a planning strategy, which will map out how the estates can be redeveloped incrementally over the next 20 years. This will include building consensus through developing a robust case for regeneration and a comprehensive engagement process with the local authority, key stakeholders and local residents.
