The Built Environment
Our team work across a wide range of built environment change projects. We are interested in how the Built Environment as a whole works, how the dynamics of change in built form and in use combine to make it the way it is.
We started out in 1988 as just architects. Now we see buildings, whether newly built or re-purposed, as the delivery point of larger change dynamics. These can start with socio-economic research, heritage and environmental asset evaluation, regeneration and planning strategy and policy making and urban design, before individual buildings play their part. This helps us test the changes we handle are better conceived and that, once built they can serve their users and communities well over the long term.
The Benefits of Multi-Disciplinary Working
We are a multi disciplinary built environment planning and design consultancy. We see our clients and user communities benefit from the blending of skills and varied professional perspectives of regeneration expertise, planners and designers. This daily shared working experience helps our team to understand the perceptions of others, including local authority planning and advisory officers. The experience gained of working together on projects then helps our team engage with the many different stakeholders our projects affect.
Private and Public Sectors
Our work is well spread across both private and public sectors. Our team see the creative economic contribution private owners and businesses bring through their personal investment and energies. They understand and value too the particular ambitions, responsibilities and challenges public sector clients are charged with, both as corporate bodies and local planning authorities.
The Virtues of Consultation
Good consultation is key to so much of what we do – with those affected by large scale urban change, the regeneration of the housing estates communities have lived in for decades, with those with special experience and knowledge of heritage, landscape and ecological assets.
