Dilly Meadows shortlisted as a finalist in LABC Awards

10 August 2020

Dilly Meadows, a new housing scheme in West Harptree for Whitecroft Developments, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development’ category for the West of England LABC Building Excellence Awards.

The site, on the edge of the village, included an existing house and a former builder’s yard. It was redeveloped to produce a scheme of 18 homes including the refurbished and extended house. With terraces fronting the main street and farm-like clusters behind, arranged around courtyards, the layout was directly influenced by the built form and landscape character of the village.

Whitecroft Developments are renowned for their high quality, bespoke developments and sensitive use of natural materials. Our analysis of the local context, groupings of buildings and external materials informed the design approach to enable the development to belong to the village.

Our role in the project ran from planning through to completion on site. We provided architecture and planning consultancy services as well as construction drawings and liaison on site.

The development was completed last year and all homes are now sold.

Winners will be announced on 15 September.
