Built environment planning, design and regeneration consultancy Nash Partnership working with Planning Developments Limited has secured planning consent for five residential housing projects on behalf of privately owned house builder Hawkfield Homes, all within the last six months.
The projects span the WECA and North Somerset areas and include:
- Keynsham Police Station, Bristol. Nine houses (3,4 and 5-bed homes) will be built on land which currently includes the former police station, outbuildings and car park. Permission was granted by BANES Council and groundworks have recently commenced on site.
- Land at Watermore School, Frampton Cotterell. Five new five-bed homes will be built on this site which includes existing school buildings. South Gloucestershire Council gave the go-ahead in June and construction is due to begin in January 2021.
- Rush Hill, Bath. A resolution to grant planning has been secured to develop this former garage, petrol station and hand car wash site by building nine new homes, including four contemporary mews townhouses with incredible views across Bath. The development will enhance the appearance of the site in keeping with the area’s character.
- Parnell Road, Clevedon. This site, which currently includes two vacant buildings, will be redeveloped to consist of four semi-detached properties. Permission was granted in December by North Somerset Council.
- Whitehall Road, Bristol. Amended planning consent has been secured for a site on Whitehall Road, which will see the construction of nine townhouses. Construction work will commence early 2021.
A key member of the team, who was critical to the planning success of four of the projects, was Clare Hillier-Brown of Planning Developments Limited, who acted as planning consultant. Nash Partnership’s very own Mel Clinton and Leigh Dennis acted for Hawkfield Homes as planning consultant for the Rush Hill project in Bath.
The new homes will help to satisfy a growing demand for housing in the region, while the designs of the five developments are in keeping with the appearance, scale and materiality of the surrounding areas.
