This project was the first phase of the regeneration of the former Lister Petter Factory site in Littlecombe, Dursley.
Working with developer clients Bloor Homes, Nash Partnership was awarded the project as part of a competitive bid for St Modwen. The brief was to provide a masterplan and detail design for 74 homes in line with the constraints of the Design Code.
The proposals also had to meet ambitious sustainability targets to reduce carbon emissions from the development by 30%. The proposed dwellings achieved an EcoHomes Excellent rating and in addition we provided a number of specialist ‘PassiveHaus’ dwellings and some affordable social rented bungalows.
The scheme was part of a masterplan development of 600 dwellings which provides community facilities, a crèche, a doctor’s surgery and a nursing home. The houses are designed to respond to orientation to maximise the use of solar gain. In addition, other renewable energy solutions such as photovoltaic panels, heat recovery systems, and water recycling are provided.
The project successfully obtained planning permission and the scheme is complete.
