Marking Great Big Green Week

10 June 2024

This week, we’re excited to be marking Great Big Green Week with a series of special lunchtime ‘knowledge swaps’ for our teams on the theme of sustainability.

Throughout the week, we’ll be welcoming a number of external and internal speakers to join us for dedicated CPD sessions on topics including:

–          ‘Timber in building design’ (Carpenter Oak)

–          ‘Embodied carbon in building design’ (Curtins)

–          Sustainability perspectives of the Housing Design Awards shortlist (Director of Sustainability Paul Miller & Building with Nature Approved Assessor Amanda Taylor)

–          The Water Lane sustainability statement and a review of the BREEAM scoring

Designed to align with the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change, our week-long event will help us to continue to evolve our sustainability skillset. For our colleagues, we’re committed to offering a CPD programme focused on sustainability while also understanding the shifting government focus and variations in requirements.

Commenting on the week, our Director of Sustainability Paul Miller said: “Across the practice, we take the pressing issues of climate change and biodiversity seriously. We’re privileged to be joined this week by a number of experienced external speakers who share a similar focus and skilled colleagues who are passionate about making a difference. These insights will help us to ensure we continue to shape responsible and balanced schemes for our clients.”
