In progress: College Road, Bristol

25 June 2024

Great to see this high-profile Bristol project progressing so well, with some foundations now in and piling work imminent…

It’s the former Bristol Zoo car park – a brownfield site to the west of College Road and in the Clifton conservation area. The site used to provide parking for up to 160 cars but has been vacant since the zoo closed its iconic Clifton site in September 2022. Our client Hill Group is building 62 new homes here (20% affordable), which includes 55 one- and two-bed apartments and seven mews houses.

We’ve had the pleasure of working on the technical designs for this exciting, significant project and last week enjoyed a visit to see the substructures taking shape. It won’t be long before the superstructures start to emerge at this historically important location, where designs will reflect the architecture of the surrounding mansions.

Our team’s already looking forward to the next site visit and continuing their involvement as construction work continues at pace.
