Great news from our team of planning consultants, who secured consent for 21 new one- and two-bed apartments (over 55s) and ground-floor commercial space at the former Keynsham Fire Station.
This well-located but redundant site is small and constrained, so it posed a number of challenges. Given that a previous attempt by others to gain permission had failed, our planning consultants were thrilled to secure consent for our client Chewton Place Developments.
The Keynsham Fire Station site is the last one awaiting development within the BANES Civic Centre regeneration area, so the new scheme will help support the wider vitality of Keynsham’s town centre.
Our planning consultants worked closely with our design and heritage teams on proposals for the scheme. The final plans were submitted after the team sought views and input from members of the local community, who helped evolve the initial ideas. The proposals were approved at committee last week.
Our teams are looking forward to seeing the scheme take shape, which will transform this redundant and unattractive site with a high-quality new development.
