Making the most of Mulberry House

13 March 2023

Helping to make the most of a client’s individual home is always an exciting challenge. With views as spectacular as these, we could see plenty of potential for this property from the outset!

Our architects have reimagined this 1970s house in Bath to create a sustainable family home which makes the most of the breathtaking views offered by its steeply-sloping plot. Our plans improve the building’s poorly-conceived layout to take advantage of its location while upgrading and modernising the space and prolonging the building’s lifespan.

This involves moving the main living space to the upper floor and creating a stunning new upstairs living space and terrace. Our work will also enhance the property’s connection with the surrounding garden.

To help improve the property’s sustainability credentials, all elements of the building envelope will be thermally upgraded to ensure less energy is used and less CO2 is produced through living in the house. Our plans use materials sympathetic to the local context while also respecting the long-distance views of the property from the Grade II* listed Sham Castle.

The project is currently on site and is expected to complete later in 2023. We can’t wait to see our clients move in and make the most of their fabulous location and surroundings.
