Members of our planning and urban design teams met residents in Long Ashton on Friday and Saturday to discuss proposals for land adjoining the western edge of Long Ashton.
An outline planning application for a residential development in the village is being prepared for submission in early 2020. The outline application shows how the site could be developed to provide a scheme that sits comfortably as a natural extension to the village. Proposals include:
- 35 dwellings with associated car parking
- Allotments
- New tree planting on the site boundaries and within the new residential environment
- A landscaped frontage incorporating space for informal recreation and play, and a habitat for a range of wildlife
- A community orchard and rose garden
- Pedestrian and vehicular access points off Weston Road
- Footpaths across the site to ‘connect’ the site with the village and to Warren Lane
At the weekend, our team talked residents through the emerging design proposals and invited comments before the application is submitted on behalf of the landowner, Long Ashton Land Company. The consultation boards are available here.
