Nash have been appointed by recommendation to advise on detailed conservation repairs at Bath’s Jewish Burial Ground in Combe Down that was closed for burials in the early twentieth century. The cemetery is extremely rare on two counts:
- An early complete Jewish cemetery
- One of only fifteen complete Georgian/Regency cemeteries in England
The gravestones and tombs are delaminating requiring urgent works to save the surviving inscriptions, boundary walls and structures. The small building below is thought to once have been an Ohel for the laying out the bodies.
