A new sustainable home
Nash Partnership designed a new single-storey house which included key design principles to make the home as sustainable as possible.
This sustainable design includes a borehole ground source heat pump, rainwater harvesting and solar hot water. The house was constructed from a green oak frame which has been partially built into the hillside. This feature helps to even out temperature fluctuations and a whole house ventilation system has also been incorporated alongside a ground source heat pump and under floor heating.
Rainwater is also being recycled and a nearby local spring is being fully utilised within the garden.
