Bray & Slaughter

Bristol-based main contractor Bray & Slaughter moved into its new HQ after the completion of an office redevelopment project, with design and planning consultancy provided by Nash Partnership.

Nash Partnership secured planning consent for the redevelopment of the company’s existing site in Bedminster and reconfigured the site to provide contemporary office accommodation and reception space.

Bray & Slaughter has occupied the site since 1900. The site formerly incorporated an inefficient layout across several buildings including room for storage, a joinery mill, staff facilities, parking, recycling outlets and office space. The company was keen to find a way to use the space more efficiently while increasing office accommodation and re-using the existing joinery mill.
The work involved demolishing a disparate office building and converting a joinery mill, turning 415m² of light industrial use into vibrant, low carbon office space which responds to current and future business needs.

By reconfiguring redundant space and understanding the need for extended office accommodation, we created a design that enables efficient working, local recognition and an enhanced staff and visitor experience.
