This Grade II* country house is believed to date from around 1720 and was subsequently extended in the 1870s. The house contains many period rooms with some timber panelling and period fireplaces remaining. An impressive Grade II stable block and courtyard buildings adjoining the house is set in substantial landscape grounds with a long ornamental drive, water features and an ice house.
The design brief was to provide a quintessential British retreat with great food and an authentic experience built around the restored kitchen gardens and other local produce sourced within a 25-mile radius.
Nash Partnership collaborated with interior designers Etons of Bath and Greenhalgh Landscape Architects to design a luxury country hotel, spa and wedding venue comprising of 28 bedrooms with nine lodges located in the parkland setting.
