Our client’s detached home is in the Bath conservation area and overlooks the High Common set above Royal Victoria Park. Our brief was to demolish a non-descript garage on site and replace it with a purpose-designed studio which improves the character of the area, through a carefully-curated palette of neutral tones and natural materials which complement the modern style.
Our sensitive designs for this attractive new single-storey building, constructed from Bath stone, were approved in 2022 and work is now complete.

Sustainability and energy efficiency were prioritised: its green sedum roof provides thermal mass, cooling, sustainable water storage and biodiversity benefits whilst the Structural Integrated Panels (SIPS) structure promotes thermal performance and airtightness.
