For the second year running, our planning consultants were proud to be named ‘Consultancy/Advisory Team of the Year’ at the SW Residential Property Awards, held in Bristol last night.
The judges praised Nash Partnership for being “a truly multi-disciplinary consultancy”, highlighting our planning team’s “impressive array and scale of projects, also noting the strong focus on building an inclusive and social culture.”
Our planning consultants work for organisations of all types and sizes to steer a range of applications through the planning process – from small and rural homes to large, mixed-use urban developments. The team’s work also includes listed building applications, site appraisals, public engagement, appeals, heritage assessments, placemaking frameworks, masterplanning, policy and guidance and regeneration strategies. In addition, our consultants work with local authorities to help them plan for housing delivery which creates resilient and engaging communities.
Recent residential projects our planners have worked on in the SW region include:
- Water Lane, Exeter. Our team secured unanimous approval at planning committee for this ‘flagship’ scheme which includes up to: 980 homes, 40,000 sqm of commercial space and 320 student accommodation units, plus more than 100 units for older persons’ housing. Described as “probably one of the most important [applications] this committee has considered in many years”, the proposals will transform Water Lane while also bringing wider strategic benefits to Exeter as a whole.
- Podsmead, Gloucs. Our team is providing planning services to Gloucester City Homes for the regeneration of Podsmead. Proposals will underpin the regeneration of the Podsmead estate by delivering 172 new homes for social rent as well as the renewal of local retail/amenities including shop, pharmacy and opportunity for community-led commercial. Plans also include a major overhaul of the public open space to deliver transformative benefits for the local community through significantly improved facilities for play and amenity.
- The former Keynsham Fire Station. Our team secured consent last year for 21 new apartments (over 55s) and commercial space at the former Keynsham Fire Station (subject to the completion of a legal agreement).
- Mulberry House, Bath. Working with our in-house architects, our planners secured permission for the retrofitting and reimagining of an individual 1970s home located in the city-wide conservation area and world heritage site. Green belt and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boundaries also dissect the plot. Now complete, the project has created a sustainable family home which makes the most of the breathtaking views offered by its steeply-sloping plot.
This is the second consecutive year our planning team has been named ‘Consultancy of the Year’ at these prestigious awards, with a range of Nash work winning in various categories for five of the six years since the SW Residential Property Awards began.
