Outstanding achievements from across the region’s property sector were celebrated at last night’s SW Insider Property Awards, when Nash Partnership was proud to collect the trophy for ‘Architectural Practice of the Year’.
The annual event celebrates the people, businesses and organisations involved in designing, developing, funding, building and managing the built environment in the region.
At the event, judges praised Nash Partnership for demonstrating “a supportive office culture with a strong set of values”, which translate into our work. The judges were also impressed with our agility in managing challenging projects.
In addition to having our commercial sector work recognized at these awards, we were also named ‘Consultancy of the Year’ at the sister event – the SW Insider Residential Property Awards – earlier this year. There, the judges recognized our team’s “impressive array and scale of projects”, which range from small and rural homes to large, mixed-use urban developments.
Some project highlights from our work in the commercial sector over last year include:
- The Francis Hotel, Bath. As heritage architect, we secured Listed Building consent for sensitive alterations which are part of this Grade I listed hotel’s transformation. Working closely with the design architect, our approach ensures the building’s historic character is preserved while delivering modern comfort and sustainability in a highly sensitive heritage setting.
- American Museum & Gardens, Bath. Building on an almost 30-year relationship with the museum, we’ve continued to provide advice on repairs and upgrades. Last year, this work focused on exploring thermal upgrades and renewable energy options, exhibition refit and retrofit advice, undertaking roof repairs, and reconstructing a historic retaining wall.
- Small office building, Combe Hay. Our designs for a small new office development in the Combe Hay Green Belt and the Cotswold national landscape were approved in November 2024. The development will replace existing disused stables, which are in a poor state of repair, with a similar-scale office building to relocate an existing local business.
- Bradford on Avon Rugby Club. Our planning consultants secured outline permission in June for a new indoor facility including an all-weather pitch, changing rooms, and a fitness suite, with a new landscape belt to be planted for added screening.
Commenting on the win, Nash Partnership’s Design Studio Director John Everett said: “This award recognizes not only our nimble approach to project leadership but also the strong internal culture we’ve built over the years. It’s also testament to the variety of work we do in the commercial sector across the practice, at sites ranging from leisure and sports venues to hotels and offices. We’re proud of this range and the ability to turn our hand to a multitude of challenging projects, whether for the residential or commercial sector.”
