Our architects and planning consultants, and the outstanding projects they’ve worked on, have been shortlisted in no fewer than six property awards categories in just a fortnight.
The finalists for the annual SW Property Awards were announced on Monday 8 September, when we were pleased to join the shortlist for ‘Architectural Practice of the Year’ and ‘Consultancy of the Year’. Our Water Lane project in Exeter, which gained unanimous outline approval earlier this year, is also shortlisted for a ‘Future Ambition’ award.
Hot on the heels of the regional awards announcement came the Bath Property Awards shortlistings on Friday 18 September, when we were pleased to be named finalists in the ‘Architect’ and ‘Consultancy’ categories. Also, in recognition of our impact in Bath over nearly 40 years, we are shortlisted in the new ‘Property Legend’ category.
Commenting on the awards news, Nash Partnership’s Partner Daniel Lugsden said: “The inspiring projects, companies and individuals who’ve made it onto the shortlists are testament to the strength and resilience of the property market in our region. We’re proud of the range of size, scale and sector of projects we’ve worked on over the last year and of our professional teams who are making positive change across the region. It’s great to have this work recognized with not one but six shortlistings and we look forward to hearing the outcome.”
Projects we’ve worked on in the region during the qualifying period include:
- The Francis Hotel, Bath. As heritage architect, we secured Listed Building consent for sensitive alterations which are part of this Grade I listed hotel’s transformation. Working closely with the design architect, our approach ensures the building’s historic character is preserved while delivering modern comfort and sustainability in a highly sensitive heritage setting.
- Former Bath Press site, Bath. We’re working with developer City & Country on phases 1-3 of the redevelopment of the former Bath Press site to deliver the first 144 homes there alongside a basement car park area.
- American Museum & Gardens, Bath. Building on an almost 30-year relationship with the museum, we’ve continued to provide advice on repairs and upgrades. Last year, this work focused on exploring thermal upgrades and renewable energy options, exhibition refit and retrofit advice, undertaking roof repairs, and reconstructing a historic retaining wall.
- Small office building, Combe Hay. Our designs for a small new office development in the Combe Hay Green Belt and the Cotswold national landscape were approved in November 2024. The development will replace existing disused stables, which are in a poor state of repair, with a similar-scale office building to relocate an existing local business.
- Private residential client, Bath. Heritage repairs and sensitive changes to a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse, which included relocating the kitchen to its original basement location, restoring floors and fireplaces, repairing and replacing windows, and upgrading the roof.
- Trinity Road, Bristol. Our architects are involved in the technical design work for this project which includes a new neighbourhood policing facility and commercial space alongside 100% affordable housing at the central site in Old Market.
- Bradford on Avon Rugby Club. Our planning consultants secured outline permission in June for a new indoor facility including an all-weather pitch, changing rooms, and a fitness suite, with a new landscape belt to be planted for added screening.
